Biography
I teach American History and coach the offensive line for varsity football.
I was born in Iowa, moved to Mesa in 1973. I am a 1982 graduate from Mountain View High School. While in high school, I wrestled, played football, and played the french horn in the school orchestra. After high school, I worked for my father as a cabinet maker, and I volunteered as an assistant JV football coach at Mountain View High School. I really enjoyed working with kids, so I decided to go back to school to become a teacher. I earned my degree in History Education from the University of South Dakota in 1996, and I have completed my Masters from Northern Arizona University.
I began my teaching career at Yuma High School in 1997, transferred to Gilbert High School in 1999, then to Skyline High in 2012.
I have been married to my wife, Patty, for 20+ years, and we have two beautiful daughters.
If you need to contact me, the best way is to email me at mcnorthey@mpsaz.org or call 480-472-9500 and leave a message.
It is going to be a great year at Skyline High School.
