Travia is in her fourth year at Skyline. She was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She holds a B.A. in theatre from Northwestern State University, where she had the opportunity to work on such films as Steel Magnolias and The Man in the Moon. In addition, she received theatre training through the Berkshire Theatre Festival in Stockbridge, MA.
Travia’s teaching career began at Harleton High School in Harleton , TX where she directed over twenty plays. After 7 years at Harleton, she transferred to 4-A Hallsville High School. After completing one year at Hallsville, Travia made a move to Pine Tree High School where she directed 9 shows in her three year stint. In 2005, she and her cast became State Champions in 4A One Act Play.
At Skyline, Travia has produced and directed 2 Musicals and 4 Plays.
Travia is excited about what this year entails for the Skyline Theatre Department and hopes that the students' continued hard work pays off with increased audience participation.
