Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil.” – James Allen

DREAM BIG

I became a teacher because I am passionate about teaching students that they can become anything they dream to become and nothing or no one should ever stop them from their dream ... I wanted to teach students success skills for life ... skills they will use on the job and in their personal success ... so here I am going into my seventh year teaching and my seventh year at Skyline High School - 2012/2013.  I am excited to meet every single one of the students that have been assigned to me.   I teach Marketing I, Marketing II, senior economics and am the DECA Advisor.  Students, come ready to engage in life!  Engage in learning something new!  Engage in dreaming BIG!

Biography

I graduated with a bachelors degree in Business Administration/Secondary Education also completed my masters in economics and entrepreneurship for educators through the University of Delaware.

I have been honored to hold the office of Arizona Marketing Educators President where I was presented the Distinguished Service Award from the Arizona Marketing Educators colleagues, 2010-2011 and the year prior winning New Arizona Marketing Teacher of the Year award, the Rising Star award given by Arizona DECA State Advisor, Oleg Shvets and I was also honored by the Veterans of Foreign Affairs as winning the first place high school teacher's award in 2009.

I am excited to bring my marketing/sales success experience into my classroom!  Two of the most notable accomplishments include winning the use of a career car for four years (won first car in four months) and two all-expense paid trips for two to exotic locations.  I also had the privilege of being published in a book entitled Some Leaders are Born Women by Joan Eleanore Gustafson and wrote the chapter entitled "Aligning Dreams and Goals for Success".   I recently started a new business in the apparel designer denim industry.  I have two beautiful children, Rochelle and Bryce Tolman!

Students will be challenged to "think outside of the box" and become all they can become as they learn academic concepts and apply them to real world settings.
