The goal of Mesa Public Schools Junior High Athletics Program is to involve as many students as possible in a wide variety of sports while developing their skills in a competitive environment in order to prepare them for high school both as students and athletes.
There are two different levels in our athletic program:
Competitive 8th Grade Team:
The 8th grade seasons will be comprised of six to eight weeks of practice and several competitive games concluded by an end of season tournament.
Developmental 7th/8th Grade Teams:
The Developmental team will be comprised of 7th/8th grade students that do not make the competitive team. The goal of the 7th/8th developmental season is to improve the individual and team skills of each athlete. The athletes will participate in a six to eight weeks skills camp that includes individual and inter-squad competition with the possibility of scrimmages against other schools on Saturdays and concluded by an end of season tournament.
The fee for participation in the Junior High Athletic Program is $75 per sport, per season. There are four sports seasons that correspond with the school's calendar.
ALL athletes must be passing all classes and attend a minimum of 3 classes to participate and/or attend practice and games.
