Mesa Public School’s athletics are divided into four seasons, with two different skill levels.
Season I Game Schedule:
The goal of Mesa Public Schools Junior High Athletics Program is to involve as many students as possible in a wide variety of sports while developing their skills in a competitive environment in order to prepare them for high school both as students and athletes.
Competitive Grade Level Teams: Smith offers four seasons of competitive teams; boys baseball, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls volleyball, wrestling, girls badminton, flag football, boys and girls soccer, girls softball and boys and girls cross country. The cost is $75 per season and is due upon team selection at the end of tryouts.
Skills Camps: In addition to the competitive junior high athletic program, skills camps will be offered each season for all 7th and 8th graders interested in improving sport specific skills and learning techniques and rules for the sport.
ALL students must maintain a passing grade in all of their classes to participate in games and tournaments throughout the season, and must attend at least three class periods the day of a game to play.
