The goal of Mesa Public Schools Junior High Athletics Program is to involve as many students as possible in a wide variety of sports while developing their skills in a competitive environment in order to prepare them for high school both as students and athletes.

Mesa Public School’s athletics are divided into four seasons, with two different skill levels.  Developmental teams are comprised of 7th and 8th grade students who are still developing their skills.  Grade level teams are comprised of students who exhibit prior experience or skill.  Both levels receive uniforms, travel for games, compete and participate in tournaments.  All students must attend tryouts so they can be placed appropriately.  Students are placed on teams based upon their skill level at the discretion of the coaches. All students will be placed on a team, and will get to play in games.

Registration paperwork must be received prior to the first day of try-outs, and the $75 registration fee is due upon the conclusion of try-outs.  Students who have not paid their registration fee will not be allowed to participate in scheduled practices or play in games.

ALL students must maintain a passing grade in all of their classes to participate in games and tournaments throughout the season, and must attend at least three class periods the day of a game.
