Until further notice, the following attendance guidelines will be in place for Junior High Athletics. 
  • Boys BasketballMaximum of 4 guests per athlete.  No restrictions on adult or child, 4 guests total.
  • Wrestling:  Maximum of 2 guests per athlete.  No restrictions on adult or child, 2 guests total.
  • SoccerNo restriction on the number of spectators.  
  • Only students or children that are accompanied by a parent/guardian of a participating student athlete will be allowed to attend.

Registration forms are available in the Front Office.

(Forms must be filled out front and back and returned to the Front Office by the Friday before the first day of tryout.)


The goal of Mesa Public Schools Junior High Athletics Program is to involve as many students as possible in a wide variety of sports while developing their skills in a competitive environment in order to prepare them for high school both as students and athletes.


Competitive Grade Level Teams:  Smith offers four seasons of competitive teams. The cost is $75. per season and is due upon team selection at the end of tryouts. Students can not play in a game until the fee is paid.


*No Physical Required for Junior High Students


**ALL students must maintain a passing grade in all of their classes to participate in games and tournaments throughout the season, and must attend at least three class periods the day of a game to play.**
