My teaching career began with Mesa Schools in 2004 as a Special Presenter, traveling to most of the 50+ elementary schools throughout Mesa to teach lessons in math, science, and health. I joined the 7th grade science team at Smith Junior High in the fall of 2007 and really enjoy working with seventh graders. I am also one of the sponsors for Smith's engineering club, Engineering Explorers.
Prior to my career in education, I spent over 20 years working in an assortment of engineering and management positions in both the food and pharmaceutical industries. I worked with a variety of familiar products including potato chips, tortilla chips, barbeque sauce, and pain relievers. These experiences truly allowed me to see just how important science is in many careers.
I hold a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Penn State and a master’s degree in education from Arizona State.
I look forward to a GREAT year in science!
