Biography

Hi! My name is Monica Germaine and I have been employed as a school nurse with Mesa Public Schools (MPS) since 2003. I have worked at several elementary schools and this is my fourth year working at the Jr. High level. Before coming to MPS, I worked as a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) nurse and for Mollen Immunization Clinics.

I have two AA Degrees (one in Liberal Arts and the other in Science) and a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from Grand Canyon University.

I love being a school nurse and my goal is two-fold. I try to make the health office a welcoming environment to all who visit. A kind word, big smile, and loving heart can go a long ways. Another goal is to educate students on keeping their bodies healthy and the importance of eating breakfast before coming to school each day. Statistics show that about 48% of youth go to school without eating breakfast. Well-nourished students have improved concentration, elevated tests scores, better school attendance and fewer behavioral issues.
