This is my ninth year at Smith Junior High, and I am glad to be back.
I grew up in southeastern Washington state, in the Tri-Cities. My favorite classes in high school were social studies, Spanish and English. My hobbies include music (I play acoustic guitar), reading, and art.
I moved to Arizona in 2006 to pursue a degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Speech Language-Pathology. During my time at ASU, I interned with Scottsdale Unified School District in two separate high schools. I also interned at Chrysalis Academy, a charter school serving children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I graduated from ASU in May, 2009. I worked for one year providing in-home therapy services to children ages 1-15 with varying levels of disabilities. I chose to pursue a career in the school district to become more active in the education of kids in a team centered environment.
