Questions for Parents at Conferences
Dear Sousa Families:
With parent-teacher conferences just around the corner, it is an excellent time to start thinking about the important questions you would like to ask your child’s teacher. Every time you work with your child on homework or ask them about their day, things come up. Start a list to take to conferences or email ahead of time to your child’s teacher.
Here are some important questions you may want to ask:
What do you see as my child’s strengths and weaknesses?
This gives insight into how your child is performing at school.
2. Is my child organized, and meeting time lines?
Disorganization is often a problem with very smart children who get easily distracted and is a skill that many students need support with at home.
3. What should I be doing and asking my child each night to support them in school?
Students benefit most when parents and teachers communicate and work as a team!
