Dear Parents,
I just wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to a new school year and to introduce myself. I am originally from San Antonio, Texas. I graduated from Texas A&M with my B.A. and received my masters from NAU. I have been an educator for a total of 24 years, 10 of them in administration. My husband is a retired police officer and I have two daughters.
Our new theme this year is “Reach for the Stars ”. There are many key players in the educational success of your child and we realize that you are the primary stakeholder. We also realize that our staff plays a significant role in your child’s life and in their educational success. Therefore, it is very important we work together and communicate with each other. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have a concern, a question, or a suggestion.
I believe that school is a place of learning, a place to grow in knowledge, skill and friendship. It should be a place to develop respect, understanding and acceptance of all. I hold very high expectations. We invite parents and students to join every teacher and staff member in creating a positive environment for learning.
Please help us ensure that your child reaches their highest potential by communicating with the school on a regular basis, by ensuring that your child arrives to school on time and is at school everyday unless they are truly sick, and that your child comes to school prepared for their day.
Again, I can not tell you how honored I am to be principal at Sousa Elementary. I look forward to getting to know all the children and families who attend our school. I know that together we can do what is best for all the children at Sousa.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mullavey
Principal
