A Little Bit About Me
As many of my students come to find out, I am not an Arizona native. Though I am pretty close to being one after living in the Valley for 32 years. I am originally from the land of 10,000 lakes - Minnesota. If you listen closely, you'll still hear my Midwest accent!
I am a product of Mesa Public Schools. I attended Johnson Elementary, Taylor Jr. High, and Mesa High. After graduation, I attended Northern Arizona University where I received my teaching degree. Go Lumberjacks!!
My first teaching job began right here at Sousa. Just a few weeks after my NAU graduation, I learned that I would be teaching 4th grade at Sousa. I am now entering my 19th year of teaching. I have taught 4th grade for 5 years, 3rd grade for 4 years, 5th grade for 4 years, 3rd grade for 5 years, and now I am back in 4th where my teaching career started.
Outside of grading papers and school work, I love spending time chasing after my son Joseph, who will be a Sousa 5th grader this year, shopping, reading, and four wheeling in our jeep with my husband.
