Mrs. Tara Doest
Like most Arizonans, I am not a native. I am not necessarily a native to any state. I was born in Indiana, in 2nd grade moved to Georgia, in 10th grade moved to California and then 15 years ago, moved to Arizona. I have been all over the place!
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies at California State University, Fullerton and a Masters of Education with an emphasis in Cross Cultural Teaching at National University in California. Since then, I have been busy being a wife and raising our three boys. All three boys started Sousa in Kindergarten. I have loved this school since day one!
The things I LOVE doing in my free time are spending time with my husband and boys, running and cooking! I run so that I can eat!! A perfect day for me would start with an early morning run, followed up by an egg, hash brown and bacon breakfast then the rest of the day spent hanging out at the beach. Yes, this would be difficult in Arizona. I guess that would have to happen while on vacation.
I am excited to be teaching 6th grade and have high expectations in helping your child tackle the Arizona Career and College Ready Standards. We have lots to do this year to prepare for the big leap into junior high.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. The more we work together, the more successful your child will be!
