Program methodologies include specially designed instruction (SDI) that enables a student to access general education curriculum. Resource teachers utilize multiple modalities within their instruction Students being serviced in a resource setting receive specially designed instruction (SDI) based on their individual needs. SDI can be provided in the general education setting and/or the resource setting. SDI is provided in addition to, not in place of, the student's general education instruction. Resource teachers collaborate with the general education teacher and assist with the implementation of accommodations and/or modifications for students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Instruction and strategies focus primarily on IEP goals for each individual student and may include academic, social/emotional, behavioral, and/or other related services as outlined in each student’s IEP.
