Deaf/Hard of Hearing Program

The mission of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (D/HH) program for Mesa Public Schools is to provide specially designed programming for students who exhibit a mild to profound hearing loss that impedes their development of language and communication skills as well as interferes with their ability to achieve their educational potential without specialized instruction. Certified teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing provide instruction and support in the areas of developing auditory skills, language development, speech, speech reading, literacy, and self-advocacy skills as well as, academic support in an inclusive educational setting.
