Secondary Special Education Director
Mel Kelley is the Special Education Director for High Schools and Success Schools, she has been fortunate to work for Mesa Public Schools since 1996. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from Arizona State University and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. After teaching for several years at the high school, Mel then became a District Content Specialist, providing support to secondary special education teachers in the area of curriculum, materials, teaching strategies, and behavior supports. As the Director of Special Education for High Schools and Success Schools, she provides support to schools and works with parents to understand the special education process. Additionally, Mel supervises itinerant teachers in the area of Adapted Physical Education, Orthopedic Impairment, Traumatic Brain Injury and Transition Services. A proud Mesa Public Schools graduate, Mel is committed to serving the administrators, teachers, students and parents of Mesa Public Schools.
