Biography

I have been part of Mesa Public School's Special Education Department since 1987. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Masters' Degree in Special Education.

I have worked at Gompher's Rehabilitation Center in Phoenix, Paradise Valley School District, speech therapist at Monterey County Office of Education, and a speech therapist at the Behavioral Science Institute in California.  I've also been a program specialist for Department of Defense schools in the Panama Region.  In Arizona, I also worked at the Arizona Diagnostic and Evaluation Center in Tucson prior to joining the MPS team.

I have Arizona certifications as a Reading Specialist and in English as a Second Language.  I am a past President of the Arizona Chapter of the Alexander Graham Bell Association and past presenter at numerous Council of Exceptional Children conferences.

I provide support to deaf and hard of hearing children and their families in many outreach programs throughout the state.  My goal is to support our deaf and hard of hearing students to have a meaningful learning experience in the general education settings throughout the district.
