I have taught Deaf and hard-of-hearing children in Mesa Public Schools for 31 years. I am currently a part-time itinerant teacher who travels to various schools in the district to provide services to students and staff members. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech and Hearing Science from Arizona State University. I have a Master of Education Degree from the University of Arizona in Deaf Education. I have also completed 60 credit hours of continuing education to keep up to date on current educational practices.
As an itinerant teacher, I provide one-on-one and small group instruction as outlined on the students' Individual Educational Plans (IEP). I provide information to classroom teachers and staff on technology (hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM systems, etc.) and strategies on best practices when educating children with hearing loss.
