Tammara Bourdo has been an educator for 27 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Arizona State University and began her educational career teaching sixth grade for Mesa Public Schools. Over the next fifteen years, she taught fourth grade for 13 years and fifth grade for two years. During that period of time, she also earned a Master of Education with a Reading Endorsement from Arizona State University and English as a Second Language Endorsement. Changing directions in 2007, she ventured to a new career path teaching Kindergarten Autism for three years. Tammara received her Cross-Categorical Special Education and Early Childhood training through Northern Arizona State University as well as attended trainings at SARRC and through MPS Professional Development. Continuing on in special education, she assumed the role of Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) teacher at Pomeroy for five years. Being very passionate about assisting all students in becoming successful readers, Tammara accepted a position as an SLD Itinerant for Mesa Public Schools where she is able to provide intensive reading instruction to students with severe reading challenges.
Tammara and her husband enjoy spending time with their two sons. Additionally, they take pleasure in traveling, outdoor activities, and the arts.
