The scientifically literate person is one who possesses an inquiring mind, understands, uses and has a positive attitude toward science. All students must have the opportunity to become scientifically literate and have a sound knowledge base of scientific concepts, systems and process skills which enable individuals to become positive contributors to society and productive members of the work force.
