My name is Avril Anders and I graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education as well as an endorsement in Structured English Immersion. I also have a Masters Degree in Education with emphasis on Learning & Technology. I was born in Nevada, but have lived in Mesa since 2004. I have three children who are at Las Sendas elementary and Mesa Academy.
I have worked for the Mesa Public School district for the last 7 years and have taught 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 1st grade. I have been involved in the summer aviation camp program for 5 years and love working with the students to expand their love of aviation. I also love to volunteer with the youth in Mesa and currently teach science class one night per week for students ages 5-12.
I am passionate about learning and feel that you are never too old or too young to learn new things. This year we launched a new program I created called EarthED. It's for 4th-grade students and it's a one day interactive field trip that gives them foundational knowledge to science standards while inspiring them to continue to be interested in science subjects.
