Cell Phone
and other electronic devices

Student's possession and use of cell phones and other personal electronic devices at school, on school bus and at school activities are governed by the rules of the school. In no event may a personal device be used in a manner that violates the privacy of others or dusrupts the school'sobjective of maintaining a safe and orderly learning environmnet for allstudents. All personal cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned off and placed in the student's backpack, or purse, during class. Administrators and teachers are authorized to confiscate electronic devices that are used in a classroom or used in any other manner that violates district policy or school rules. The parent of a student whoseelectronic device has been confiscated may recover the item from the school administrator.

Repeated misuse of a cell phone may result in loss of the privilege of carrying or using the item at school or at a school function. The district is not responsible for cell phones and other electronic devices that may be lost, stolen, damaged or left in a desk or locker at school.

Cell Phone/Technology Consequences

1st offense:
Item confiscated; Student signature on Disciplinary Action Form

2nd offense: 
Item confiscated; Student and Parent/Guardian signature on Disciplinary Action Form; Parent/Guardian must pick up device; Student receives 1 day of Lunch Detention

3rd offense:
Item confiscated; Student and Parent/Guardian signature on Disciplinary Action Form; Parent/Guardian must pick up device; Student receives 3 days of Lunch Detention

4th offense:
Item confiscated; Student and Parent/Guardian signature on Disciplinary Action Form; Parent/Guardian must pick up device; Student receives 1 day of In School Suspension; Behavior Contract Initiated

5th Offense:
Item confiscated; TBD by Administrator
