I grew up in Mesa Public Schools. I attended Eisenhower Elementary School, Poston Junior High, and Mountain View (Go Toros!) My educational experience was top-notch, and I am honored to now be part of Mesa's great educational heritage as an educator. After graduating from Mt. View, I went on to earn my Bachelor's degree in English and my Master's degree in Secondary Education from Arizona State University. I am also both gifted and ESL endorsed. I have been teaching for over twenty-eight years, and I am proud to say I was one of the original staff of Stapley Junior High.
I have been married for twenty-eight years and have two sons, a daughter-in-law, and a three-year-old granddaughter. My husband, in addition to his day job in sales, is a hobby farmer. We've got chickens, turkeys, miniature cows, two Scottish Terrier sisters, Maisie and Bea, and two other dogs, one inherited from my husband's parents and the other from my youngest son.
I enjoy traveling, writing, reading, cooking, swimming, hiking, and playing games with my family, but one of the passions in my life is teaching. My goal is to help students communicate more effectively and to think independently. These are skills that will help them to achieve all their goals in life.
