Hello, students and parents.  I hope you are all healthy and safe.  My thoughts are with each of you every day, and I am looking forward to seeing each and every one of you again soon.  Please know that I am here for you if there is anything you need.  The district is providing multiple resources for you.  Elementary schools are providing meals; please check the district web site for more information.

Good news!  The district has posted home learning resources.  There are links to some excellent web pages where you can explore topics and ideas you are personally interested in learning about.  This is an excellent opportunity for you to practice your reading and writing skills and learn something new!!  Click on the link below to take advantage of these resources and have fun learning.  If you have any trouble accessing the resources, please let me know.  Happy learning!!

I grew up in Mesa Public Schools. I attended Eisenhower Elementary School, Poston Junior High, and Mountain View (Go Toros!)  My educational experience was top-notch, and I am honored to now be part of Mesa's great educational heritage as an educator.  After graduating from Mt. View, I went on to earn my Bachelor's degree in English and my Master's degree in Secondary Education from Arizona State University.  I am also both gifted and ESL endorsed.  I have been teaching for over thirty years, and I am proud to say I was one of the original staff of Stapley Junior High.

I have been married for thirty years and have two sons and a four-year-old granddaughter.  My husband, in addition to his day job in sales, is a hobby farmer.  We've got chickens, turkeys, miniature cows, and three dogs.

I enjoy traveling, writing, reading, cooking, swimming, hiking, and playing games with my family, but one of the passions in my life is teaching.  My goal is to help students communicate more effectively and to think independently.  These are skills that will help them to achieve all their goals in life.
