Welcome to 7 GT and 8  Social Studies. I am looking  forward to teaching your child this year.  We will be focusing on historical questioning, geography, economics, government and history.  Please check your child's planner,or follow me on remind.com (for 7th grade: text @notar to 81010 or for 8th: @nota  ) and the parent portal to stay updated on due dates, grades and events.

I am a product of the Mesa Public Schools.  I graduated from Mt. View High School in 1988.  I completed my BA in History and began teaching in 1994.  My first teaching assignment was at Poston Jr. High, which I attended.  After teaching for ten years, I took a five year hiatus before returning part time at Smith Jr. and Westwood High.  This is my seventh year at Stapley and I love being at the junior high level.  In my free time, I am an avid reader of history and I love to travel.  In my years at Stapley,  I have worked with Ford's Theater as an Oratory Fellow, taken students to Washington D.C., completed my residency for the  Center for Education and Leadership at Ford's Theater,  met Chief Justice John Roberts at the Supreme Court and presented at numerous national conferences.   This year, I will be returning to D.C. as an Oratory fellow.

Please feel free to call or email at anytime if you have questions.  Again, welcome to 7th/8th  Social Studies.
