Biography

I am a product of the Mesa Public Schools.  I graduated from Mt. View High School in 1988.  I completed my BA in History and began teaching in 1994.  My first teaching assignment was at Poston Jr. High, which I attended.  After teaching for ten years and earning my MEd in Counseling,  I took a four year hiatus before returning part time at Smith Jr. and Westwood High.  This is my ninth year at Stapley and I love being at the junior high level.  In my free time, I am an avid reader of history and I love to travel.  In my years at Stapley,  I have worked with Ford's Theater as an Oratory Fellow, taken students to Washington D.C., completed my residency for the  Center for Education and Leadership at Ford's Theater,  met Chief Justice John Roberts at the Supreme Court and presented at numerous national conferences.   This summer I spend a week on the USS Midway studying the Global Cold War and this year I will be returning to D.C. as an Oratory fellow.

In September of 2019, I transitioned from the classroom to the counseling department and am looking forward to serving  Stapley students in a new capacity!
