About Me

I have been teaching art for Mesa Public Schools for over sixteen years. After receiving my BA from Arizona State University I taught at the elementary level for approximately four years. During my elementary teaching experience I had the opportunity to teach at six different schools and work in both of the Imagitoriums. Having had my student teaching assignment at Poston Junior High, when a position of art teacher became available, I made the move from elementary art teacher to junior high art teacher. Since moving to the junior high level I have acquired an ESL endorsement, a Reading endorsement,  and my Masters in Bilingual Multicultural Education. At Poston Junior High I  taught Introduction to Art, Drawing and Painting, Sculpture and Ceramics and both Introduction to Photography and General Photography.

From 2008 to 2011, I divided my day between Poston Junior High and Brimhall Junior High. I taught at Brimhall Junior High In the morning then I traveled to Poston where I taught for the remainder of the day.

In 2012 after Brimhall became Franklin Junior High I had the pleasure of only being at Stapley Junior.

In 2020 I was lucky enough to be called back to Brimhall Junior High in order to teach Art first hour. After which I drive over to Stapley for the remainder of the day.

Here at Stapley Junior I have the pleasure of teaching Introduction to Art, Sculpture and Ceramics as well as Drawing and Painting.

I am originally from California but having moved here so many years ago, I feel like a native.

I look forward to teaching your child. My hope is that your child will learn lifelong skills as well as gain a strong foundation in art.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you should have any questions or concerns.
