Welcome to my humble little area of cyber-space. My name is Patrick McDonnell. I have been living and teaching in Arizona since 1989. My wife, Trish and I, moved to Arizona from New York, over 29 years ago. I taught for four years at St. Catherine of Sienna, catholic school from 1989 to 1993. In 1993, I began teaching in the Roosevelt School District. I taught for 7 years, 1993-1999, at Curtis O. Greenfield Middle School, in Phoenix. I taught for one year, 2000, in the Tempe Elementary School District, at Gilliland Middle School. In 2001, I found my way to Stapley Junior High School.  I am begining my 17th year here.

I was born and raised in Astoria(Queens), New York. I went to Archbishop Molloy High School, home of the Stanners. After high school I attended Westchester Community College. I earned an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts, with a concentration in Mathematics and Science. My next stop along my educational career was St. John's University, in NY. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. The last stop on my educational super highway was Northern Arizona University, where I earned a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership.

My hobbies are a little different than most people. Some would call them strange hobbies. In 1990 I started officiating high school sports, for the Arizona Interscholastic Association. I am beginning my 27th season as a football official. I have had a few accomplishments as an official. I have officiated 4 state semi-finals and 2 state championship game. My crew work 2008, 2A state championship game. I have been a softball coach at Stapley for 12 seasons. I have recently returned to umpiring fast pitch softball.  I am an avid weight lifter and have been since my freshman year in high school.

I also enjoy writing.  I have several writing projects I am currently working on.  I hope to have some completed soon.
