This is my 8th year as a music educator but I have been a musician most of my life.  In the small city of Lindon, Utah I started piano lessons when I was 7, which got me started on a lifetime of musical pursuits. I have been playing the violin for 22 years, which has given me many great musical experiences.  I took many years of private lessons, junior high and high school orchestra, and I even enjoyed being concert master for my college symphony. I have even been able to perform in Carnegie Hall in New York with the Utah Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra at the young age of 15.  In college I also became an accomplished vocalist in both choirs and as a baritone soloists.

It was my choir teacher in high school that inspired me to become a music educator.  In 2013 I earned a bachelor's degree from Utah Valley University in Music Education with an emphasis in Choir and Strings.  The next year I was given the great opportunity to teach choir, band, orchestra and bagpipes at Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, Utah. After 5 years, in 2019, my family and I moved to Arizona to pursue a Masters Degree of Music Education at Arizona State University.  While living in Mesa I taught choir in the Scottsdale School District at Desert Canyon Middle School for one year.  I now have the great opportunity to teach orchestra here in the Mesa Public Schools!

Besides music, my other interests include spending time with my wife and 4 boys (ages 9, 7, 5, 3 and a few months), hiking, exercising, reading, listening to an audio book, watching movies, or playing any Star Wars video game, and playing board or card games.

I'm so glad to be a music educator in the Mesa Public Schools.  I love to help students find a love for music that will last them for a lifetime!
