Philosphy of A.S.P.E.N.

“Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.”

-Martin Luther King, Jr.

What is ASPEN?

  • A.S.P.E.N is a training program created by an educator for educators.
  • The content is derived from current best practices, evidence-based practices and a survey of available programs addressing aggressive behaviors in the school setting.
  •  Many packaged programs tend to overlook the differences in district/school resources, training, and need. A.S.P.E.N. makes a concerted effort to accommodate to school programming.
  • Managing aggressive behavior should be easily accessible, affordable, and high quality.
  • Purpose

To Prevent behaviors by equipping staff with proven strategies for safely defusing anxious, hostile, or violent behavior at the earliest possible stage.

    • Understand the roots of aggression in children.
    • Gain an understanding of how to help students struggling with behavior problems.
    • Learn skills to stay safe (and liability free!) at school.
    • Be prepared to enjoy our jobs.
