Begin your FAFSA
This year the FAFSA opens in October and is based on your previous year's taxes.
Filling out the FAFSA® can be a straightforward and easy process. The online FAFSA at fafsa.gov will guide you through the application; click on the "Start A New FAFSA" button on the home page, and just follow the directions on the screen. Attend a College Fair
Attend the Mesa Public Schools College Fair - this annual event allows you to meet college reps, and learn about out of state, in state and community college programs and campuses. Over 100 colleges, and high school programs are represented at the Mesa Public Schools College Fair, held on Monday, October 21st, at Westwood High School, from 6 - 8 pm.
Attend the NACAC College Fair (National Association for College Admission Counseling) at the Phoenix Convention Center on Sunday, October 20th, from 11am - 3am. Don't miss this opportunity to meet with representatives from hundreds of colleges throughout the nation.

Provide your information one time through a simple, online registration page instead of dozens of times on prospect cards at each college table.
Finalize your college applications
Review your applications for completion and errors making sure to proofread them. If you were eligible for a fee waiver for the ACT/SAT, you may also be eligible for application fee waivers. Check with your student advisor if you have any questions.
Take the ASVAB
Still haven't found what you're looking for? The ASVAB can be a great assessment of your skills and the types of occupations in which you may excel. For students interested in the military this test is a must. This test can also be taken by anyone who is not interested in the military without sharing your information with any recruiters.
Letters of Recommendation
Plan Ahead! Make sure that you request your letters of recommendation at least three weeks before it is needed. Check with your advisor to see if there is a form they want filled out and what other documentation they need.
