TEACHER BIOGRAPHY

Teaching is my passion, and I can't imagine being in any other profession!  This is my 14th year teaching for Mesa Public Schools.  My first six years were spent at Lehi Elementary teaching 4th and 5th grade.  I'm incredibly excited to be teaching 5th grade again at Summit Academy this school year.

I grew up in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  My family moved to Arizona when I was a senior in high school and I graduated from Tempe High.  I obtained my Bachelor's degree from Ottawa University in 2005 and earned my Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University in 2015.  I'm also an academic associate with Arizona State University where I work with future teachers.

I have three beautiful children, Christopher, 26; Corey, 24; and Maya, 19.  Both of my boys graduated from Red Mountain High School.  Christopher is a plumber who specializes in gas line installations, and Corey is a surgical tech at a local surgery center.   Maya graduated from Westwood High School's IB Program and is in her second year at ASU's Barrett Honors College.  Last year I gained a daughter-in-law, Nicole when my son got married!  She's become a lovely addition to our small family.  Finally, I have two lovable golden retrievers named Roxy and Oakley.

In my free time I enjoy walking, skiing, reading, listening to live music, cooking, baking, and decorating my home.  I am quite the sports fan and enjoy all sports, but my all time favorite is football.  My favorite team is the Arizona Cardinals.

I'm looking forward to a wonderful school year!
