Welcome to 5th Grade! I am very excited to be teaching at Summit Academy. This will be my 13th year teaching in Mesa. I have taught third, fourth, and this is my fifth year teaching 5th grade at Summit Academy.
I grew up in Mesa and I attended Mesa schools until my junior year in high school. I graduated from Central High in Phoenix. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education through Ottawa University. In 2016, I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Administration. Learning is a journey that never ends!
I have three amazing kids! They bring so much happiness and adventure into my life. Allison is in 9th grade, Zachary is in fifth grade, and Ethan is in third grade. We also have two “guard” cats, Wiggle Bay and Chloe. They keep our house free of critters. We also have a wonderful dog, Tango.
Shopping, jogging, reading, and playing softball are some of my favorite things to do. I am a huge baseball fan...I'm sure that you can guess my favorite team. What I love doing the most is spending time with my family and friends.
My philosophy as a teacher is that all students can learn, just not the same way, on the same day. I truly believe that children are individuals and not one method works for everyone. I will give my students many opportunities to learn in the way that works best for them. I will communicate with you through daily agendas, weekly progress reports and quarterly report cards. We are a team and our goal is to ensure that your child has a successful year. Please feel free to contact me at anytime to discuss your child.
I am looking forward to an exciting year!
