Hello Wonderful Third Grader,

My name is Ms. Staas and I am pleased to introduce myself as your third grade teacher.  I am so excited about the amazing year of learning and growing we have ahead of us. This year get ready to work hard and challenge yourself, , visit amazing places and times, work as a team, read, read, read and have lots of fun.

When I’m not teaching I am spending my time with my husband and two children.  I have one son, Sam, who is 20 years old and is studying ceramics at ASU this year.  My daughter, Chloe is 17 and will be a junior in the IB program at Westwood.  My family loves to travel, garden, make art, go to the movies, and cook together.  I also have one dog, Twilla, two cats, Crystal and Bailey, and three chickens.

This summer I spent my time reading, sewing and traveling.  I had the chance to visit museums, hike in the woods, fish, and spend lots of time with family.  I can’t wait to hear about the adventures you had this summer.

I look forward to meeting you on “Meet the Teacher Night” (Monday August 6th, from 5-6pm). I have enclosed a supply list so you can start getting ready for our awesome year.  You can bring your supplies to “Meet the Teacher”, or you can bring them the first day of school.

I am so excited to meet you and start our journey together.
