This course begins with examining the events leading to the creation of the United States and the background for the writing of the U.S. Constitution. Students will learn about the structure of American government, including a historical foundation and survey of the economic system in the U.S. It continues with the events of the Great Depression in the United States, as well as world events during the same time period, through present day global issues.
This course traces the events and their effects on the United States and the world from the beginning of the U.S. Civil War to World War II. An emphasis on geographic themes and concepts will be incorporated, as well as economics and the study of the role of government and citizenship.
