Welcome to the 2017-18 school year!

August 2017

Every student needs all of the following supplies every day. The needed supplies are:

  • Spiral notebook for taking notes. This spiral is for math class only. It is also for notes only.

  • Sharpened pencils or mechanical with extra lead (very important to have every day!)

  • Pencil Eraser

  • White board marker. These markers will run out of ink. Students should have a new marker on hand to use when the old one dries out. (we will use this A LOT!)

  • Eraser for the whiteboard (a clean sock or rag works well)

  • Red ink pen

  • 1 ½” to 2” three ring binder with pockets

  • Separate and labeled “Math” section in binder with:

    • Lined loose leaf paper

    • Graph paper

January 2018

  • Math notebook (for MATH NOTES ONLY)

- 7th grade needs at least 30 pages

- 8th grade needs at least 28 pages

  • Pencil or mechanical pencil with extra lead

  • Pencil eraser

  • WHITEBOARD MARKERS! These markers will run out of ink.  Students should have a new marker on hand to use when the old one dries out.

Also highly recommend,

  • An eraser for the whiteboard
  • Something to grade with (colored pen/pencil/marker)

  • Math Folder or Binder with a separate and labeled "Math" section (Required for MA20)

* Parents: If a student is unable to get any of these supplies on their own, please let me know right away so that I can see if I can assist in acquiring the needed materials. Email works best!

Students will have homework almost every night.  There are very few exceptions. Homework is found online at: is how assignments will be completed and submitted. The assignments will have a due date posted. This is the date by which students should have their assignments completed.

I look forward to a great year! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me -- again email works best!

I've lived in Arizona most of my life. I graduated from Desert Ridge High School, then received my associate's degree from Chandler-Gilbert Community College. I recently graduated from Arizona State University in December 2016 with my bachelor's degree in Education. I am passionate about teaching and helping others learn. Specifically, helping others better understand mathematics. Outside of school and teaching, my time is devoted to my daughter and little family. I love being outdoors. Therefore, try to spend as much time as possible being outdoors with my family. I am looking forward to support growth and learning within mathematics here at Summit Academy as I continue my first year of teaching!
