Fall 2015 Bulldog Byte

PBIS at Superstition

This year Superstition High School is implementing Positive
Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). This means we are looking for the positive in everyone. When students are following the schools expectations: Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe, they will get Bulldog Coupons. Bulldog Coupons can then be traded in for snacks, preferred activity time, and other Incentives.

AzMERIT

AzMERIT is the assessment given to 3rd through 11th grader
students in Arizona that determines how students are learning based on Arizona's College and Career Ready Standards. This test replaced AIMS and you should have gotten a family score report. If you have any questions about AzMERIT please visit the following website: http://www.mpsaz.org/azmerit

Spotlight: Art Club

Art Club is going strong at Superstition High School! Mrs. Varley has taken over Art Club and is showing students how to further their art skills. She started by asking students for ideas on how to beautify our campus. Many wonderful ideas were put forth like painting a mural of the Superstition mountains and helping leadership club decorate and produce a community garden and hopefully we will soon be able to put these into effect.

Art club students have also been working on their drawing skills through drawing activities. Most recently they have been doing quick draws and looking forward to doing an extended drawing project.

Attendance Awareness Month

Attend today, Achieve Tomorrow! September was attendance awareness month. Students participated in a variety of activities, from a donut party for the class with the best attendance, to a poster contest for the class that could make the best attendance poster, and even attendance trivia. Thank you to Rayna Herrera for organizing these fun events to inspire students to attend today, achieve tomorrow!
