Biography

Jeff moved to Arizona to persue his doctorate studies in Clarinet Performance with Dr. Robert Spring at Arizona State University.  His former clarinet teachers include James East (SUNY Fredonia), Jon Hunter (Buffalo Philharmonic), and Kenneth Grant (Eastman School of Music).  His jazz studies have come from Bruce Johnstone, Eddie Daniels, Mike Crotty, and Michael Kocour.  Jeff has appeared as a guest soloist with the Arizona Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, BYU Idaho Concert Jazz Band, Salt River Brass Band, ASU Jazz Repertory Band, ASU Concert Jazz Band, SUNY Fredonia Symphony Orchestra, Mesa High Symphonic Band, and the Paradise Valley High School Band.

Jeff is currently in his 7th year teaching in the Mesa Public School District.  He now comes to Mesa High full time as a band director after spending his first 5 years in the district at Taylor Junior High and last year at Mesa Junior and Lowell Elementary.  He also maintains an active professional performing career with the Symphony of the Southwest, Fusion Winds (woodwind quintet), and Desert Grooves (jazz ensemble).

In addition to his musical duties, Jeff enjoys coaching and will continue to coach the Kino wrestling team and the freshman baseball and wrestling teams at Mesa High this year.
