Biography

Although I grew up in the greater Chicago area, I am now going on my twenty-eighth year as a proud resident of Arizona. I received a B.A. in English Literature from Arizona State University and Post-Baccalaureate teacher certification in Secondary English and Middle School Mathematics from Rio Salado University.

As the ELA Secondary Content Specialist in the Mesa School District, my main role is to support students, teachers and parents by providing instructional resources and support for our language arts curriculum. As an educator, my goal is to ensure all students leave my classroom with the skills needed to flourish at the next stage of their education and careers. A successful English education is imperative for  students' future roles in society. I firmly believe that the communication and analytical skills learned in the English classroom will equip students to impact their societies and greater world for good in the future.

Prior to accepting this position, I spent 5 years in the Mesa District as an English teacher and department chair at RMHS, where I taught all levels of English, freshmen through AP English Literature. I began my teaching career with the Gilbert school district.
