Principal's Corner
Welcome to Booker T. Washington Elementary School!
Welcome to Washington Elementary School, home to approximately 550 Kindergarten through sixth grade students. As principal, I am honored to be part of the Washington learning community.
Washington Elementary educators are committed to the academic, behavioral and social success of all our students. Our instructional program is designed to assist each student in achieving success and their personal best. Our site aligns instruction to the Arizona State Standards along with a diverse curriculum including: MesaREADS, math, written communication, social studies, health, science, physical education, art, music and library skills.
Our teachers, specialists, and support personnel help create a warm learning environment for learners in the classroom. Our school grounds have a fantastic environment with mature trees, shade cover, gardens and individual building pods where classrooms are grouped by grade levels. This provides common areas for staff to meet and discuss best practices, lessons, and data for instructional strategies to support student learning. At Washington, we believe that good teaching practices are directly connected to student success.
Our Parent Teacher Association and School Improvement Advisory Council (SIAC) are designed to foster a community partnership by providing activities and opportunities to come together and honor our accomplishments. We appreciate and support parent involvement in your child’s education as well as your involvement in our school community.
The Washington staff is committed to preparing students to become outstanding leaders and contributing members of our community.
Sincerely,
Michele Grimaldi
Washington Elementary Principal
