Biography

I am thrilled to be part of the Emerson and Webster learning communities and to serve you as the Dean of Students. I am in my 24th year as a professional educator. I spent seven years as a classroom teacher, seven years as a reading specialist specializing in reading intervention, six years as a reading coach, and three years as a Title I School Improvement Specialist for Mesa Public Schools before beginning my role as a dean. Prior to my time in MPS, I served school communities in the Gilbert School District and the Kyrene School District. I earned a master’s of education degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University, a master’s of education degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Language and Literacy from Arizona State University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.

I am an Arizona native, and grew up in rural Arizona. Mesa has been my home during most of my thirty-two years of marriage, to my supportive husband, Stuart. We are proud adoptive parents to our fifeteen-year-old son who is a MPS student at Skyline High School and an animal and Pokemon enthusiast. We also have an adorable chiweenie dog, named Max. I am passionate about learning and love to read to expand my knowledge and skills as an educator and parent. When I am not at school or learning, I like to spend time with family and friends talking, watching movies, playing games, enjoying the outdoors and relaxing poolside.

Please feel welcome to reach out to me with questions. I would love an opportunity to talk with you about your child’s learning and success at school!
