Biography

Welcome to Preschool! I’m excited for your child to be in our class. For many children this will be their first experience in a classroom setting. Our journey together will help prepare your student for school success!

My name is Jessica Olmstead, but our preschoolers call me Ms. Jessica. I received a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Special Education from BYU-Idaho in 2011. Since then I've taught English in Taiwan, lived in Bulgaria for 5 years, and taught Preschool in Arizona for 3 years. I have a first grader, kindergartener, and 18 month old!

What is Inclusion Preschool?

Our classroom model is called Inclusion Preschool, meaning that around half of our students receive special education services in our classroom. Every student greatly benefits from this approach, as peers learn to play with and help each other. Our play-based curriculum focuses on your child's development as a whole, including social-emotional needs, speech and language, cognitive skills, motor development, and self-help skills. Developing these foundations in early childhood can establish school readiness and success. I believe that with some creativity and effort, every student can succeed!
