Biography

I earned my Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education at Holyoke Community Collge in 1981 and my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Westfield State College in 1986, both colleges are in the state of Massachusetts. I had a variety of  teaching experience in Massachusetts. I began with the Head Start Program, and then taught Kindergarten in a private school. I left the private school for the public school education system where I taught Kindergarten, second, and sixth grades in the towns of Granby and West Springfield. I moved to Arizona in 1994 and was hired in 1995 to teach sixth grade at Hawthorne Elementary. While at Hawthorne I was offered a position in the G.U.S. program and I have been a G.U.S. teacher since 1997. Within the G.U.S program I have taught grades K-5  and have had the privilege of seeing the majority of my students achieve success and move on to the larger classroom. In 2014 the  G.U.S. program was moved from Whitman Elementary to Webster Elementary where I am the kindergarten G.U.S. teacher. In addition to my teaching experience I continued on to higher education and earned my Master's Degree from Northern Arizona University in 1999, as well as my ESL endorsement and Early Childhood endorsement.
