Biography

Welcome to our Sensory Preschool Room!  I'm so excited to be a member of your child's team here in the Mesa Public Schools.  I began teaching in Kansas almost 20 years ago.  When I lived in Tennessee I earned a bachelor's degree from Austin Peay State University.  In Kansas I earned a master's degree in Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education from Pittsburg State University.  I also completed additional course work as an Autism Consultant/Specialist.  When I moved to Arizona I worked with Southwest Human Development as the itinerant special education teacher going into Head Start classrooms for 4 years, and as an autism intake coordinator for my last year there.  In the fall of 2019 I accepted this position in Mesa at Webster Elementary, and I'm very happy to be here at this wonderful school working with wonderful children and their families.

In my free time I enjoy stand-up paddleboarding, camping with friends, and some casual hiking.  Mostly I spend as much free time as possible with my 3 grandsons who live nearby and watch them play hockey, go to their school activities, take them on hikes, or we have slumber parties and play board games while munching on popcorn before reading books like Mouse on a Motorcycle at bedtime.
