I went to Highland Elementary, Poston Jr. High and finished at Mountain View High School, class of 2007! My mom work for MPS for 30 years, so I also started working in MPS at a young age. I work in the Mountain View bookstore during the summer. Once I was a Junior I started volunteering at elementary school for service hours. My senior year I went to school and worked. I started at Entz Elementary as a kindergarten aid. Once I graduated I got a job at Porter Elementary in the ED program as a paraprofessional and I also worked at Holmes as the Special education clerk.
After high school I went to Chandler Gilbert Community College and graduated with my Associates in Elementary Education. I finished my last two years at NAU and got my Bachelors degree in both Elementary Education and Special Education. I student taught in the Gilbert Unified School District in an sixth grade classroom and a junior high math resource class. When I graduated with my undergrad I knew I wanted to teacher I just did not know where so...... I moved to Alaska!
I drove to Alaska with a friend. Loved every minute of the 2 week drive. Got to see the California, Oregon, some of the Washington coast, and got to see Canada- so beautiful! I taught in Alaska as a Life Skills teacher grades 6 to adult. I worked at a separate day school for behavioral students. I loved every minute it. Alaska is very far and all my family is here in Mesa so this summer I decided to move back. I made it a month long road trip and traveled to 18 new states.
