Take Steps for Wellness

Welcome to the 2016/2017 school year! Mesa Public Schools cares about the health and well-being of our employees. Our wellness program, Take Steps for Wellness, provides assistance and creates opportunities for employees to lead healthier lifestyles.  One of the goals of the Take Steps for Wellness program is to create a culture of wellness throughout the Mesa community.  The wellness program works with healthcare providers, government agencies, district programs, and district partners to provide a variety of services to employees.


Wellness Incentive Program - Coming Soon

This year we are excited to introduce a Wellness Incentive Program, for benefits eligible employees, that will reward you for the healthy steps you take.  Completing 3 wellness activities between October 1, 2016 and August 31, 2017 will earn you an incentive on your benefits for the 2017/2018 plan year.  Flu shots starting Sept. 1, 2016 will be included as 25 points towards this program.  Click HERE for more information.  All employees are encouraged to participate in any district wellness program, regardless of your contract status.  

Deterring the Impact of Diabetes: September 13 – October 4 

If you are interested in learning how to prevent Type 2 or better live with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, this mini-series is for you!  Click here for more information.

Flu Shots Starting September 19 - Bring Insurance Card

flu shotFlu shot clinics will be held at 26 district locations, from September 19 - October 7. Flu shots are FREE for all employees, regardless of insurance coverage. Please bring your Insurance card and MPS ID badge, regardless of insurance carrier. Spouses covered under the MPS medical plan are also eligible and will need to present their insurance card. We will not administer the flu vaccine to anyone under the age of 18 or to pregnant or nursing women. Click HERE to see the schedule. Trek to the Grand Canyon Walking Program - Starts Oct. 3

grand canyonAre you ready for a change of scenery? Mesa Public Schools is taking a virtual field trip to one of the major natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon. Sound fun? If so, join the Take Steps for Wellness walking program to track your steps on the path to a better you. Increasing your steps with a goal of 10,000 steps a day can help you achieve a healthy weight and improve your heart health.  Click HERE for more information. Everyone will need to register as new. Earn 25 points by having steps entered every day during the 8 weeks.

$50 off Weight Watchers at Work

WW at workStart the school year off right!   Weight Watchers at Work is returning on Wednesday, September 14, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm at the locations below:

Administrative Services Center or Fremont JH

The 10 week sessions are $80 per employee and $130 for non-employees. We need at least 15 people at each location to offer the sessions. Register online to sign up for the series. Earn 25 points for attending 8 out of the 10 classes. 


Tobacco Cessation-Five Week Course

Each hour long class is led by a professional health instructor and focuses on the techniques you need to conquer your addiction and start living a tobacco-free, healthier life. Click HERE for more information.tobacco cessation
