Since the opening of Westwood High School in 1962, the Warrior Band Program has stood as a symbol of pride for both the school and its surrounding community. The band was established under the direction of Mr. Joe Lloyd and has since been one of the finest and most recognized band programs in the state of Arizona, earning accolades at college band days, the State Marching and Concert Festivals, as well as the Fiesta Bowl Parade, the Heritage Anaheim Festival and Disney Magic Music Days. The current band, under the direction of Mr. Ivan Pour stands ready to add to the accomplishments of this storied band program and continue the tradition of Westwood Warrior Pride. Message from the director: Welcome to the new web page of the Westwood High School Band Program. It is my hope that this web page will serve to improve communication between myself, the Band Booster organization, and parents and students involved in the program. This site features information about each of our performing ensembles here at Westwood, with notifications and information about provided for each. Also included is a link to our calendar and also a link to information on our Band Booster organization and their efforts in helping the band. Above all, here at Westwood we strive to educate the whole student in academics, musicianship, and character. In each of the ensembles here there is a special camaraderie that no other activity can create. We encourage each student to perform at their best and we strive to give each student a thorough grounding of musical knowledge.  This special experience is open to all students on the Westwood campus, regardless of prior experience. Whether a student has been playing since fifth grade of wishes to begin learning an instrument for the first time, we have a place for everyone.
