Robotics Team Wins State Championship

The Westwood High School Robotics team competed in the first Arizona Interscholastic Association state competition in Robotics on May 23 and won the first ever state championship. Westwood held the #1 spot from the first match on and the students were consistent and their alliances held the top scores throughout the matches. Congratulations to our Robotics team!

Mary Saxon: One of Only 20 Flinn Scholars in Arizona

Mary Saxon was recently selected as one of only 20 Flinn Scholars in Arizona. She has been an active member in our National Honor Society, a valued trumpet player in our school’s top Symphonic band and also our Westwood Robotics team president… to name just a few of the activities on our campus that she works with. She genuinely cares and gives so freely of her time. You’ll never catch Mary without a smile on her face. She is a positive role-model and leader on our campus. She is truly a unique individual whose passion, energy and positive attitude has been a most welcome and life-changing factor for many of our students.
