Sophomore AP Scholars
The Sophomore AP Scholars program is designed to help students acquire the skills and information that is necessary to be competitive in terms of college and scholarships. The sophomore program focus is based on leadership skills and service projects. This past December our AP Scholars chose to organize a "DO GOOD DECEMBER" project to impact our school's community.
The AP Scholars decided to work with Westwood's MID, MOID, and SID intellectually disabled students. They created a Polar Express Journey to the North Pole. At each stop on the journey the students were given goodie bags/prizes. When they ended their journey at the North Pole they were able to sit on Santa's lap, got a special visit from the Chick-Fila Santa cow, and received a stocking full of surprises. The journey ended with a Polar express dance party!
The event was a Hugh success and the students loved it!
