The IB Diploma Programme, created in 1968, offers a demanding two-year curriculum of pre-university studies that incorporates the best elements of schools from around the world. It is designed for highly-motivated high school students in their junior and senior years. The programme has earned a reputation for rigorous assessment, giving IB diploma holders access to the world's leading universities.

The International Baccalaureate (IB), is the parent organization for the Diploma Programme, is a recognized leader in the field of international education, encouraging students to be active learners, well-rounded individuals, and engaged world citizens.

IB currently works with over 3,000 schools in 134 countries to develop and offer three challenging programs to over 700,000 students aged 3 to 19 years. Each program includes a curriculum and pedagogy, student assessment appropriate to the age range, professional development for teachers and a process of school authorization and evaluation.

Schools that have been authorized by IB to offer one or more of its programs are known as "IB World Schools". Authorization to become an IB World School is an intensive process that typically takes two or more years and includes site visits by an IB team. All IB authorized schools must go through a regular evaluation process to ensure that they continue to offer quality instruction at high levels to all students.

We are proud to be an IB World School, and excited to offer students a more academically rigorous program that will help them transition into a successful university experience.  Please contact our IB Coordinator, Mr. Jacob Davis at (480) 472-4419 or  jadavis@mpsaz.org with questions you may have about our program.
