The IB Programme offers a demanding high school curriculum of pre-university studies that incorporates the best practices of prestigious schools from around the world. It is designed for outstanding high school students and has earned the distinction of being the leader in college preparation; giving IB Diploma holders access to our nation’s and the world’s leading universities.
The IB Programme is available at Westwood High School for freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. Our freshmen and sophomores participate in the IB Middle Years Programme which will prepare them to enter and be successful in the IB Diploma programme as juniors and seniors. Graduating seniors in Westwood’s previous IB Diploma cohorts have been offered admission to universities such as Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, Yale, Brown, Princeton, Notre Dame, Carnegie-Mellon, Brigham Young, University of Rochester, and Claremont McKenna to name a few.
Other IB grads have chosen to stay in-state to attend the prestigious honors colleges available at ASU, UofA, and NAU. In addition, Westwood’s IB Diploma class of 2013 was offered $17 million in grants and scholarships for their undergraduate and graduate educations!
Below are links to some of the universities who offer IB Specific scholarships for our students in recognition of the prestigious prorgram that they have completed. This is not a comprehensive list, but a work in progress. For more information on college recognition, please visit www.ibo.org.
