Football Season Preview

The strength of Westwood Football is their senior leadership and experience. Westwood has 26 committed seniors this season compared to 15 in 2013 and 8 in 2012. The Warriors return 7 defensive starters (4 whom will be 3 year starters), 6 offensive starters and several players that were in the rotation during the 2013 season. Westwood's Junior Varsity team recorded 7 wins last season with 2 losses. The Warriors were runner-ups at the NAU 7 on 7 Tournament this summer losing to Liberty, Nevada in the Finals. Westwood beat Desert Mountain in the Semi Finals while Liberty beat Mountain Point. Westwood's lineman took 1st place in the Tempe linemen challenge this summer over Highland, Chandler, Tempe, Corona and Marcos. Please click on the full story for player information.
