ASU's Chicano/Latino Faculty and Staff Association (CLFSA) Scholarship

Arizona State University's Chicano/Latino Faculty and Staff
Association (CLFSA) will select three to five students for the endowed
Laura Rendón Scholarship for the 2011-2012 academic year. Scholarship
amounts vary between $2,500 and $5,000 depending on need. To be
considered for the scholarship, completed applications must be
received or postmarked by March 15, 2011. Incomplete application
packets will result in automatic disqualification.

Minimum criteria:
1.     Must be an incoming freshman, community college transfer or
current ASU student.
2.     Must be classified as an Arizona resident for tuition purposes
(residency is determined at the time of application to ASU).
3.     Applicants must be admitted to ASU as a full time undergraduate
degree-seeking student for Fall 2011, carrying a minimum of 12 ASU
credit hours each fall and spring semester in order for the
scholarship to disburse; however, students are strongly encouraged to

semester to remain on track to graduate within four years. ASU winter
term courses as well as ASU-sponsored study-abroad courses are counted
toward full-time credit-hour requirements. Summer session courses and
consortium agreement courses, Advanced Placement credits, and transfer
credits from other colleges/universities DO NOT satisfy full-time
credit hour requirements for renewal eligibility.
4.     Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
5.     Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
a.     Applicants must complete the attached ASU standard scholarship
Income Expense Budget form and submit it with this scholarship
application.
b.    Applicants must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

6.     Preference is given to low income and first generation students.

a.     A first generation student is defined as neither of the
