Attention Freshman: Looking to develop your leadership skills? Come to HOBY's CLeW (Community Leader Education Workshop) for Mesa Public Schools to be held at Dobson High School! Founded in 1958, HOBY's mission is to inspire and develop a global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. Dobson's CLeW will be held on Saturday, March 29th from 8:00-2:00 PM. Come by counseling to pick up a registration packet- all registration materials are due March 14, 2014! Questions? Attention Junior Boys: Are you looking for summer leadership training? Boys State is a week-long citizenship training programs designed to provide a working knowledge of our governmental process. The American Legion believes that our individual students are better prepared to assume the responsibilities of citizenship through their participation in this program. Boys State will be held at NAU in June. If you are interested in this opportunity, please speak with Mr. Hoerber in Counseling and pick up an application. Applications will be due back by March 7th.

If you currently hold a Service Learning timecard, you MUST get it signed, add up the hours, and fill out the information to turn in to Mrs. Murphy no later than March 24th - that's the Monday after spring break. You must sign up for a reflection at that time. If you do not reflect, you WILL NOT get your service hours. Hello Warriors! Don't you love watching great videos on You Tube or Facebook? And who doesn't love a good movie? Well, we want you to create your own video about Warrior PRIDE and participate in our Video Contest this month. Submissions are due to Mr. Long in Room 409 by March 28th at 3:00pm, must be 5 minutes or less, and must be marked with names and grade levels of the participants. There will be a $50 grand prize, $25 second place prize, and a $10 third place prize along with a Viewing Party to be held in the auditorium. Thanks for showing your Warrior PRIDE!

Book Club will be meeting this Thursday in the the Library after school. We are reading Michael Vey; Prisoner of Cell 25. This book is an action/adventure tale about two teens that find out they have special powers. Then, just as they are beginning to unravel the mystery of why they are different, they realize that they are also being hunted! New members are always welcome!

The Boy's Tennis team had a successful match on Tuesday, travelling to Carl Hayden. The varsity team won 9-0 and the JV also winning with a score of 8-1.
Congrats guys. The Boy's play at home today and Friday, matching up against Trevor Browne and Carl Hayden again. Stop by after school and catch the action.

Congratulations to Westwood DECA for another successful state competition. Westwood has a 1st place winner who now moves on the DECA International Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The winner is Alexis Darby. She won first place for her event which was Hospitality and Tourism Professional Selling. She also was a second place winner (also qualified for International Competition) in a 30 page written event, Business Operations Research. In addition to Alexis, Analeise Uriquijo won a medal for highest test score in Principals of Marketing and Brandon Dewey won a medal for highest Role Play score in Sports and Entertainment Marketing. Congrats to all my peeps!!
Congratulations to the boys and girls track team who brought home a win yesterday as they competed against Dobson and Desert Ridge. The team performed well in the sprints, jumps, throws and distance events for the first meet of the season. Outstanding performers were Greydon Bond, Nelson Jones, Jalissa Smith, Taliyah Sinica, Joe Clark, Earnest Willy, Mykeal Ham, Mariel Letterman, Aron Miranda, Lizbeth Munoz, Pearce Layton, Mark Riviera, Wes Saylor, Grace Witherspoon and Emma P. Way to go track!!!
Calling all robotics team members. We had a great build season and we have two awesome robots. We are still meeting on the same build schedule as before as we have a lot of finishing up work to be done. If you haven't come by recently come by today to see the robot with the pickup mechanism put on. Also, there is a mandatory team meeting Friday at 4 in the Carson build room. We will discuss logistics for the Las Vegas regional. If you plan on going to this competition make sure you come on Friday or get in touch with Mr. Blevins before then. Stay involved and lets get ready to kick some bot!

Congratulations to our Westwood Softball teams on their win over North High yesterday. The Varsity team won 20 to 4.
Freshman Kelsey Ayre pitched and picked up the win. Freshman Stacia Seeton had 5 hits including a home run, and had 7 RBIs.Our JV team won 14 to 3, and our Freshman team won 22 to 3. Way to go!
