Come support this years' Do-Good-December project by donating gently-used or new toys to the Mesa Child Crisis Center. The toy drive starts on November 28 and ends on December 14th. Please deliver your donations to the designated box in the front office or to any participating teacher's room. These children benefiting from our toy donations are ages 0-8 and have been rescued from neglectful homes. We want to show them that we care and let them know Westwood is a place they can call home. Contact Ms. Suman in room 202 for more information, and thank you for your support.

Hey Warriors! Are you planning to help others for the holidays? Please stop by room 410 and pick up a yellow service learning application on the cart outside the door. Fill it out and turn it in to Mrs. Murphy in room 410 BEFORE you do the service project so it is pre-approved. She will give you a timecard and other instructions. Thanks for serving!

Westwood Dance is collecting items to help Kids in the Foster system. We are looking for new and gently used clothing, and toys for ages newborn through 18, as well as new baby supplies and hygiene products for older kids. A donation box can be found in the front office and in the Dance room, the last day to donate is Wednesday December 14th.

Attention Westwood! Culinary Club will be selling chocolate covered Pretzel Grams all this week during both lunches in the amphitheater. They can be sent to your favorite people at Westwood during 1st-6th hours on December 15th and 16th! $1 for an individual pretzel gram, $3 for a bouquet of 5.

Dodgeball club will be having its last game of the semester on this Friday the Ninth. Games will resume after the break. If you want to join Dodgeball club grab a waiver from Room 401 or 413.

The Winter Band Concert is this tonight at 7:30 PM in the WHS Auditorium. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Admission is free!! Hope to see to you there!

All students interested in attending Arizona State University are invited to a presentation on ASU's Next Generation Service Corp today during 3rd hour. This unique scholarship program's mission is to develop character driven, adaptive leaders charged with driving positive impact both locally and globally. See Mrs. Mason for a pass.

NHS is doing a service project to help homeless people during the winter season, but we need your help! On Monday Dec.5th - Fri. Dec. 9th, students can bring items such as granola bars, water bottles, and new or well-worn ankle length socks, to their first hour teachers. Whichever first hour class collects the most supplies will win a BoSa donut party during first hour on Wednesday December 14th!

It's time for our annual canned food drive to benefit the United Food bank. Have you ever thought if each Westwood student brought only one can of food, we would have almost 3,000 cans! This is the time of year that it really counts! So Warriors, check your pantry, ask your parents, or stop buy a store to bring in cans to help support United Food Bank and make someone's holiday season a little better.

The last permit seminar of 2016 is scheduled for Monday December 19th at 12:25 pm. If you would like to take the Rules of the Road Test this is it. Sign up information is in the bookstore or see Mr. Brown in room 112.

Good morning everyone! Every month the SHIELD Connection
program chooses a Native American Student of the Month from teacher nominations and a Warrior Teacher of the Month for student nominations. Our Native American Student of the Month is Rozin Kiona Herrera for the month of November. His teacher Ms. Galford, says "Rozin's outstanding character is a blessing to this school. He is always engaging, helpful and polite. He does all his work with his creative talents. He always comes to class with a positive attitude and is a joy to have in class." Thank you Rozin for being a great example for all students!

Our Warrior Teacher of the Month is Mr. Matthew Wright. His student, Keyeh Billie says, ""he is always encouraging and makes sure we understand our music and know the different changes"". Thank you Mr. Wright for being a wonderful teacher to all your students!"

Warriors please check your spring semester schedules in your student portals. If you need to make a schedule CORRECTION, please go to the Google Form now open on the Student Advisement web page. Corrections will be allowed for specific reasons and must be submitted by December 16th. There will be no schedule corrections in January. Please see the web page for more information.

Hear ye, hear ye! The Enchanted Ball (aka Winter formal) is this Saturday 7-10:30 so don't miss your last chance to buy tickets in the bookstore today and tomorrow. Tickets are $20 w/activity card, $25 w/o and $30 at the door! Remember all debts must be pain in order to purchase tickets.

Don't forget to show your school spirit tomorrow by wearing white for snow out day! Then after school wear your white to the basketball game at 7 against Copper Canyon to support our basketball boys!

The time has come for Westwood's annual tradition of the DOOR DECORATING CONTEST! All classes are invited to participate. The theme for this year's competition will be Enchanted Winter, or Enchanted Holidays (or both). Judging will begin after school on December 14th and the winning class will get pizza on Friday the 16th.

Seniors - Jostens will be here for the last time this year to take graduation orders. If you have not ordered your cap / gown / tassel yet you'll need to do that on Thursday, Dec. 8. They will be available during both lunches in the amphitheater. After this you'll have to order online, and it will cost you more money.
