There will be a football Awards Night on Monday May 2nd at 6pm in the auditorium. The Freshman, JV, and Varisty teams will be honored. Parents, family and friends are invited to attend and there is no charge. Dress code for athletes is shirt and tie. Hope to see everyone there.
Congratulations to the prom royalty nominees! The nominations for King are Tahji Robinson, Dominick Ocon, and Oscar Fragozo. The nominees for queen are Alexi Cabrera, Kelsey Contreras, and Angelica Colon. Voting will be held at prom this Saturday night at AZ Science Center. Make sure to cast your vote, see you there!
Congratulations to our newly elected student council. The first meeting for the 2016-2017 student council will be next Wednesday, May 4th after school in room 213. We will be discussing important events including a mandatory parent meeting to be announced, don't miss the first step in making next year an amazing one for Westwood and student council!
This week is the last quarter per quarter challenge of the year for Silent Friends. And it will all culminate Friday with a teacher jump rope challenge during both lunches! Check your teachers classrooms for donations that will help Westwood students with part of the proceeds going to support Leukemia and Lymphoma research. Let's see what teachers will "jump" for change while supporting Silent Friends and Westwood!
Hey juniors and seniors: Prom is this Saturday night at AZ Science Center!! Tickets are on sale now $45 with Activity card, $50 without. Don't miss an unforgettable Midnight in Paris! There are no ticket sales at the door, so stop by the bookstore this week and get your tickets!
Important information from the Library:
Seniors, please make sure your library books are turned in to the Library. If you have any questions about missing or overdue books see us this week! Once the books are packed and moved, we will have no way to double check for lost and late books. All books out are now overdue. We will be sending out overdue notices this week. Please return all books as soon as possible.
The library will close it's doors on May 2nd to prepare for our move to the new building. Students that need to print or return books will still be able to come in with a pass from a teacher. Thanks so much for your support of the library!!
The Bookstore will stop selling prom tickets on Friday at 1:00. All debts must be paid in advance, so please come early. Also guest passes are due no later that this Wednesday. Thanks Bookstore.
Westwood Freshmen, this Wednesday, April 27th will be our end of the year Freshman Assembly in the Auditorium during 6th hour. You will report to your 6th hour class for attendance and then come directly to the auditorium. The theme for the assembly is Summertime Fun! Please wear your school appropriate beach and summertime attire and bring your smiles so we can have a good time celebrating your first year of high school! We cannot wait to see you there!

A representative from NAU will be at Westwood Thursday, April 28th to visit with interested juniors and to offer NEXT STEP information to seniors who are planning to attend next fall. Sign up and get a pass in the Student Advisement office.
SENIORS who have completed their Hall of Fame survey on Westwood's Homepage can pick of their #WWAccepted t-shirt in the College and Career Center.
The WARRIOR OF THE YEAR is Westwood's most prestigious award given to a senior. If you want to nominate someone to be considered, forms are in Student Advisement. Act quickly. All nominations are due to Mrs. Mason by this Wednesday, April 27th.
