Attention College Bound Seniors - Westwood is hosting a financial aid information and FAFSA workshop night this Thursday, October 20th from 6:30-8:30 pm. This is a chance for you and your parents to get important information on paying for college and hands-on help completing the FAFSA which is required for college grants, loans, and most scholarships. See Mrs. Mason in the Compass Center for more information.
Seniors - representatives from Benedictine and Hawaii Pacific Universities will be making presentations in the Compass Center Thursday October 20th. Sign up in the Compass Center by Wednesday the 19th.
Girls soccer will have open field training October 24th through the 28th from 3:30 to 5. Meet at the stadium: bring tennis shoes, cleats and water! Get a head start on success this season!
Last years girls varsity soccer team will have a mandatory meeting at 7:30 on Thursday October 20th in room 401. If you have an A-hour meet after school. The meeting is mandatory.
All books checked out from the library first quarter are now due. Please bring books back or renew them by end of the day Tuesday. Overdue notices will be emailed on Wednesday.

The boys basketball season will be here quickly! If you are planning on trying out you must have your physical and brain book completed as well as be signed up on register my athlete.Get this done as soon as possible. Tryouts start on October 31 on Halloween!
Student - this is just a reminder that if you are a 10th or 11th grade student you will be taking the PSAT test tomorrow morning. Please arrive by 7:30 a.m. with a student ID and proceed to your testing room. Check with your English or AVID teacher and check the signs by their classrooms to locate your testing location. There will be a second bus run for all non-testers (9th and 12th grade students). Lunch will be served beginning at 11:40 a.m. and 1st hour bell rings at 12:20 p.m. See the Westwood website for more information.
Attention Future Lady Warrior basketball players. The basketball season is just around the corner. If you are looking to tryout, we will have an informational meeting on Wednesday in the main gym lobby at 3:05. It's important that you attend to make sure you are eligible to tryouts. Please make arrangements to be at the meeting. If you cannot attend, make sure you get the proper paperwork from Coach Z. Again, informational meeting at 3:05 this Wednesday! Due to PSAT testing on Wednesday, there will be a culinary club meeting this Thursday, October 20th, to discuss upcoming events. All members need to be in attendance.
This year is our year! Your warrior wrestling team has dominated the Under the Lights and Megatron preseason tournaments. Regular season starts October 31--have physicals and speak to Coach Decker in 314 ASAP for details.
Congratulations to Grace Faerber for being selected the MESA SUNRISE ROTARY October student of the month. This months' selection was one of the most difficult yet as more teachers' are recommending our truly awesome students. Grace is a student that leads by example. She is a person with true "depth of character" and a most positive role model. Grace will be one of the finalists for the Rotary $500 scholarship presented in May. Congratulations Grace Faerber!
All students interested in the Institute of American Indian Art, a 4 year Tribal College dedicated to contemporary Native American Fine and Liberal Arts. Ms. Rankin, from New Mexico, is visiting Westwood this Monday, October 24, during both lunches, in room 303. See Coach Hill for more information.
The Mesa Public Schools College Fair is next Monday, October 24th from 6-8 pm at Mt. View High School. Over 100 college, university, technical school, and military representatives will be present with information on admissions and programs. All students are welcome and encourage to attend.
